Testimony Of Sister Anne Hurley
My name is Sister Anne. I am a professed religious within The Order of Consecrated Virgins. One day, as I was reflecting on the holy life of a friend who had died, Fr. Michael Campbell CC. St. John the Baptist Church, Kilbrin, Kanturk, Co. Cork, Ireland, I received in the post from Mr Victor Kennedy, his latest published book, ‘Kathleen Kilbane: The ‘Little Saint’ of Achill Island.
As I began to read this book, I was pleasantly surprised by the many similarities between these two holy people.
1: Surname: Campbell
Fr. Michael Campbell CC.
Kathleen’s mother’s maiden name was Campbell.
2: Scotland:
Fr. Michael was of Scottish descent.
Kathleen was born in Scotland and spent the first twelve years of her life there.
3: Church of St. John the Baptist
Fr. Michael’s Church of Ministry was the Church of St. John the Baptist, Kilbrin.
Kathleen was baptised in the church of St. John the Baptist in Perth, Scotland.
4: The Holy Rosary
Fr. Michael was known as the ‘Holy Rosary Priest.’
Kathleen had a great devotion to the Rosary, saying it many times each day.
5: 7th October, The Feast Day of Our Lady of the Rosary.
Fr. Michael died on the 7th of October 2016.
Kathleen died on the 7th of October 1947.
6: When dead, Rosary beads and Holy cards were brought by people and touched to Fr. Michael’s and Kathleen’s forehead and hands.
7: In the cases of both Fr. Michael and Kathleen, people stated that they felt ‘They were in the presence of a Saint.’
In conclusion, I know God has blessed my life by His introduction to me of these two holy people, Kathleen Kilbane and Fr. Michael Campbell on this earth. I pray to God if it be His divine and holy will that the holiness of the lives of these two gentle, humble souls will be recognised on earth.
